New Zealand has 17,000 kilometres of stunning coastline to explore.
No matter where your holiday takes you, there will be a beautiful beach nearby to enjoy...
Whether travelling around the North Island or South Island of New Zealand, there are scores of gorgeous beaches to enjoy. Don your bikini and swim in clear blue waters; learn to surf; or just share a picnic with family and soak in the epic scenery. Here are just a few of our favourite New Zealand beaches.
1. Raglan Beach - West Coast of the North Island

Last year we travelled to Raglan and absolutely loved it.
Raglan has a very laid-back surfer feel, fantastic shops crammed with locally-designed surf wear, fashion and gifts, and a thriving arts scene. This is the place to take your kids to learn to surf at the famous Raglan Surfing School (done it, loved it!) and enjoy the sweeping views of the often wild West Coast - absolute magic. Ask us to book you in for surfing lessons and discover the joy and thrill of riding waves for yourself.
Several luxury eco-retreats now operate in Raglan, and there are some excellent cafes in this small but personality-packed town.
2. Kaitoke Beach - Great Barrier Island

Kaitoke Beach is a very special place where time seems slows down - and that must be what makes it one of the true untouched beauties of New Zealand.
To get there, take a stunning seaplane voyage from Auckland, landing on the uncrowded beach. Chances are, in this remote peaceful place, you'll pretty much have the beach to yourself.
3. Pakiri Beach - North of Auckland

Pakiri is a beautiful white sand beach, only an hour north of Auckland. Its one kilometre stretch of unspoilt coastline is the ideal place for horse riding, and honestly - it's just a stunning place to hang out.
4. Pohara Beach - Golden Bay
Summer beach holidays are a key part of the New Zealand culture and way of life! And a favourite holiday destination for South Island families is Golden Bay. This part of New Zealand is actually a well kept secret... Oops! We think it's a secret worth sharing with our clients - Golden Bay should be on everyone's must-visit list. Stay here before or after your Able Tasman hike and get to know some locals.
5. Catlins - Otago
Catlins Beach
This is one place I am definitely wanting to visit! Catlins Beach, one stop on the iconic Southern Scenic Highway, is a pristine and idyllic piece of paradise. Spot rare wildlife including penguins and even sea lions, enjoy a picnic and a swim in the calm bay, or take a walk through the forest and out to the famous Nugget Point lighthouse.
